Typical Day

Dear Grace,
Mommy is getting more and more uncomfortable each day we approach Connor's due date. I think it helps both of us tremendously if we get out of the house at least once a day. Playing at the park, going to Mother Goose reading time at the library, visiting family, trying out a free toddler class at Patti's Gymnastics, and exploring a petting zoo have been our most recent day trips. (Outside of running as many errands as possible to keep knocking out our endless to-do list.) Enjoy!

Love, Mommy

It's been wonderful having two families to spend time with during the day. I love the adult interaction I've been having with Ms. Katie and Ms. Julie.  It's been great watching you get out of the parallel play phase with other kids and actually interact with Kelsey, Lyla and Ellie!
Meeting up with Hurey girls at Centennial Park.
Petting Farm with your girlfriend, Ellie.
Spontaneous trip to Aunt Jeryl's this week. You love the "ABC" book she leant you. You keep asking me to give it to you while we're in the car. I love looking in your baby mirror to see you "reading" it.
Thank goodness Aunt Jeryl saved Erik's "choo choo" set from when he was a little boy. This is a HUGE hit over there!
Daddy was in the city from Wednesday until last night for a work conference so we've really kept busy this week. We spent Wednesday with Aunt Libbie and even had a slumber party. Thursday we headed to Grandma and Papa's. I always look forward to putting my feet up and relaxing while we're there. Between Grandma, Papa and the 2 dogs, there are so many people to keep up with you for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Breaks like these are HUGE for this almost 39 week pregnant lady. :)

Brecken Louis Proffitt

Welcome to the world, Brecken Louis Proffitt! He was born Thursday, September 1, 2011 weighing 7 lbs. 11 oz. and 19 in.
Kristen and I are great friends from teaching together at Kahler Middle School. She is an amazing Mom of two beautiful boys and one of my most supportive friends.
Bodie- the proud Daddy of two boys.
The visit turned into a play date for Grace and JP.
JP kept saying. "This is Grace." He even gave his fellow red-headed friend a kiss.
Trying to organize kids (especially babies) for a group picture is always entertaining.
Congratulations to the Proffitt family on their newest addition to their family. It was so nice to hang out for a bit while I was back in the region. We love you and miss you all. xoxo

4th of July

Happy 4th of July to everyone back home. Yesterday, we were able to enjoy a relaxing good old American BBQ thanks to the Hart Family.
Uh oh! Someone is batting her eyes at a boy at such an early age. Something tells me we're going to have our hands full in a few years...
The Hart Family
The Nierengarten Family
The Blossom Family
IU...clap, clap! IU...clap, clap! Note to self- teach Coltan the IU cheer if he doesn't already know it.
There has to be games outside at a 4th of July BBQ.
Grace's first kiss?
How cute are these brothers?
Relaxation. I just love how they have a couch sitting against the open window. You rarely see air conditioning in London, which is fine because there is usually a cool breeze when you open the windows. It never gets too hot over here. However, nobody has screens. Another thing I just don't understand???
If this was my home, I would be very tempted to take a daily nap, drink a glass of wine, read a book, or all of the above in this spot. Katie did point out the obvious street on the other side of the window where cars and pedestrians casually pass by. Details. :)
Happy 1st 4th of July, Grace. How ironic for you to celebrate in the United Kingdom.

Many thanks to the Hart family, who hosted a BBQ. It was lovely meeting you and spending the holiday with your family. Good times with good people.

Buckley family

Thursday night Grace, Grandma Patti, and I went over to the Buckley's house. Aren't Cayla and Addi the cutest? I met Dawn through my Mom- they worked together at Elliott Elementary School. She is a fabulous educator, mother and friend. I can't wait to invite ourselves over for more play dates. All three girls were completely infatuated with each other.

All three girls are so fun, but I'll definitely be waiting until I think about wanting Nierengarten baby #2.
It was adorable watching the girls play with their Daddy. Life is so simple and happy when kids are around. They were so gentle and precious with Grace.
