Halloween party

Dear Connor and Grace,
We went to a Halloween party this year at Ms. Katie's house. All the mommies and kiddos from our regular daytime play dates, got together to celebrate Halloween. It was our first (and only so far) time we went to a friend's house with Connor. My friends, Ms. Julie and Ms. Katie were very helpful. They made it very easy to want to meet up again soon. How about Friday for Lyla's birthday? Enjoy!
Love, Mommy
Sibling love
Ms. Julie helped Grace decorate her trick-or-treat bucket while Mommy fed Connor.
You loved picking out puffy stickers and placing them exactly where you wanted them on your bucket.
The Hurey Family (minus Mr. Brandon)
Lyla played teacher and read all the kiddos a Halloween story.
Everyone brought their own treats for each other so we could practice trick-or-trerating with our new buckets.

Adley-Proffitt play date

Dear Connor and Grace,
Last week was Fall break for my teaching friends. We took full advantage of their time off by getting together with the Adleys and Proffitts. Grace was the only girl surrounded by five handsome boys. Enjoy!
Love,
Mommy
It is so much easier said than done to get 5 little ones to look up, let alone at a camera.

A is for Animals

Dear Grace,
Last Friday we went to the FREE petting zoo at Scheerings Farms in Highland, IN with Ms. Julie and Ellie. On Monday we went to Brookfield Zoo with the Buckley girls to celebrate Cayla's 3rd birthday. It has been pretty easy coming up with "A" activities and trips during the month of September. With very little effort we have stumbled across several things around the house and while we have been out and about that start with A. Enjoy!
Love, Mommy
A is for Animals.
Action shot of you feeding the donkeys. Your face is priceless!
Two girlfriends hanging out.
You and Ellie weren't very excited about the pumpkin photo opp. I handed you the pumpkin and you literally put it down and signed "all done." :)
After giving you a couple options you picked out the perfect pumpkin to take home. It's all about giving you choices (aka ownership) at this age.
You girls wanted to feed the animals one more time before we left.
Brookfield Zoo
All three girls already entertained before we even entered the zoo.
What better way to start the day at the zoo than with a carousel ride. It wasn't easy taking this picture with my phone.
The birthday girl checked in on you all day. "How's Grace? What is Grace doing? I think Grace wants to too." You've recently started holding hands with other kids and hugging them goodbye. What an adorable stage.

What  a different experience going to the zoo during the week than on the weekends. It felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. This snow lion kept making hot laps right in front of you kiddos.
Oooooo...look at the dolphins.
Happy 3rd birthday, Cayla. Thanks for inviting us to a fun day at the zoo to celebrate you.

A is for Apple

Dear Grace,
After stocking up on apples a couple weekends ago at Garwoods Farms, we have started talking about the letter A. You've been eating an apple a day and have done two painting projects with apple halves. We even found foam apples and a bag in the $ section at Target. Enjoy!
Love, Mommy
Stoplight Apple Art
The first art project was at Miss Dawn's inclusion art class. Daddy took you this month since I had a Stella and Dot trunk show. You made a stop sign together.
Apple Painting
The second art project was with the Proffitts. My other teacher friends got a kick out of watching you three. JP (3 yrs) was the only one who did his by himself. You (21 mo) were more interested in running around and taking off your diaper until you discovered how fun it is to make foot prints with the paint. Brecken (1 yr) just wanted to keep eating his apple halves.
You were so excited to wear JP's car shirt.
I LOVE the progression of these pictures.
A is for Apple.
Apple Counting
The Target $ section had this cute apple bag and foam apples. There were conveniently 10 foam apples, which fit perfectly inside your bag. Number them 1-10, and ta-da you have a homemade Montesory activity.
More to come...apple name activity, apple person and A is for animals.

Wedding time

My lack of keeping up with this blog is getting more and more embarrassing by the day. After posting about Kat's wedding. I realized I never posted about Ali's wedding. I had two HUGE weddings this year. Both girlfriends were two of my best friends from Indiana University/Alpha Phi.

We had a wonderful girls' weekend away to Dallas, TX for Ali Bange's bachelorette party. Manis, pedis, dinners out, homemade desserts in and a surprise Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum country concert for the bride-to-be.
The celebration continued in Long Island for Ali and George's wedding weekend. One thing that stands out to me about Ali's rehearsal dinner was the food. Talk about a delicious and plentiful Italian dinner. The amount of food that was placed in front of us that evening had to be record breaking. Being pregnant, I definitely had my share!
8th grade party....girls on one side...
...boys on the other. Michelle and Doug is the only couple sitting in the same spot. Everyone else is the opposite.
Me and the soon-to-be Mrs. Morin. It's going to be difficult to think of you as Ali Morin. Bange, Banger, Bang-Bang, Ali Bange, etc. just flows right off the tongue.
Who doesn't love playing in a wedding photo booth?
This was hands down one of the most fun weddings I have been to. Being the pregnant sober one should count as two votes. The food was delicious, the band was amazing and the dance floor was packed the entire reception. Ali and George have many people in their lives who love to dance- some of which are very talented. It was a celebration I was touched to be a part of.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. George Morin.
A huge shout out and thank you to both sets of Grandparents for hanging out with Miss Grace while we celebrated the Morins.
