I was so excited that you asked mummy and I to go see the ITU world triathlon championships on the 2012 London Olympic course. It was a beautiful summer day that was great for the athletes as well as the fans. Your mother and I....ok, mainly me...LOVE the sport of triathlon. Hopefully, you'll see many races in the coming years that I'll be participating in.
Love,
Daddy
I was lucky enough to capture the start of the swim with all of the triathletes in mid air. This is the most nerve racking part of a race before the long day begins.
One of the most exciting parts of a triathlon is seeing the pack race through the transition in lightning speed switching from swim gear to getting up and in the saddle of the bike.
The bike portion consisted of a technical short course that looped 9 times through Hyde park and the transition area. This race was the best designed course with the spectator in mind.
You wanted to stay and watch the running portion of the triathlon and the exciting finish, but the skies were about to open up so we decided to leave. We instead made our way towards the Marble Arch where some of your great aunts, great uncle, and second cousins were staying on their way back from Greece. They were kind enough to invite us out to dinner before they took off the following morning for Chicago.
