Libbie's bachelorette party

As I said in a previous post, my weekend in Chicago ended with a bang. Libbie's bachelorette party (ok...weekend)! It went better than I could have imagined. It seems to me that everyone had a blast. Most importantly the bride-to-be, Libbie T.

The evening started with dinner and margaritas at Mercadito and it was perfect. It was tapas style and there was extra food to go around. The wait staff was fast, efficient and friendly. They were the ones who came up with the idea to take several pictures of our group. It was spicier than I would have liked to plan for a party of 19, but that is the only negative of the evening. Yep. That's right. Libbie's bachelorette party was a group of 19 girls!
I could tear up if I continued looking at this picture.
Libbie's two sister-in-laws. We are so lucky to have them in our family. Megan, you have already been accepted to the club. Susan, it's to the point where I can't remember/imagine our family without you.
The next part of the evening was Libbie's honeymoon theme shower back at her apartment. The bridesmaids made desserts. Champagne was served. And toasts were made. As the girls walked in they had to write down marriage, sex, or love advice for Libbie. Susan read these in between Libbie opening her gifts to keep everyone entertained. The advice was hilarious and Libbie did a great job guessing who wrote what.
'Future Mrs. Weinheimer'
personalized future last name, bride and Mr. and Mrs. items are usually a hit with the bride-to-bes
The Jamaican hats were my personal favorite. They even had bride and groom embroidered on the back. You can barely see, but Libbie's has a veil attached too. You may have guessed it...they are going to Jamaica for their honeymoon.
Family and family friends are the cherry on top of the party cake. A special shout of to Amanda for flying in from the East coast and surprising Libbie. She will always remember your effort to be there.
One sister to three! It doesn't get much better than that.
Screw toasting and clinking shot glasses when you have Susan's homemade bachelorette theme cookies!

Libbie opened so many personalized gifts. A group hit was a bottle of Patron with a little note saying, "Take a shot of tequila on me. Love Tequila Patti" Rachel took one for the team and captured this moment on camera.
Of course Libbie and I thought it would be a good idea to take another one together. Oh how we think we're funny sometimes.
The evening ended with one last surprise for the bride-to-be. A trolley ride for the next 3 hours wherever she wants to go around Chicago. We went everywhere. The Adler Planetarium where she got engaged. Millennium Park where our family surprised her for dinner after the engagement. Bombay Spice, the restaurant she worked at. After riding around the streets of Chicago we had the driver make two more stops. 1/2 the girls got off and continued the evening at the Hangge-Uppe and the other 1/2 ended their evening back at the apartment. Womp...Womp...

  1. I am just so pleased to have these details about Libbie's bachelorette party. It was so fun and I can see the happiness on everyone’s face. We are also marrying soon at the local Chicago wedding venues and thinking to host a combined bachelor bash. It will surely be fun but it will be great if you could provide any theme ideas for this bash.
