Indy-IU Weekend

As soon as we arrived in Indianapolis we met up with the Spitzer family to watch Audrey's swim lesson. The actual lesson was canceled but we still got to hang out and watch her play in the water park. Brock was adorable as usual and was just infatuated with Grace.
We had a relaxing evening at Vetor's with everyone- Spitzers, Vetors, Wilsons and us. We tried our best to take a picture with the four kids, but it continues to be a challenge. Sam wanted to get to bed and wasn't very happen with me trying to fit in a last minute photo shoot.
Grace stayed up a little later so she could get some quality time with everyone. We always love our time spent with the Wilsons! Great picture of Grace with the Godfather!
Audrey and Brock are at such fun ages. They couldn't get enough of the boys running around with them. You can see in the picture how Audrey was literally pulling Michael away from the adults to keep playing with her.
The Shields came over to play too. Amelia and Tucker Vetor bonded immediately. They were just too cute together. We would never get a dog in the city, but it makes me excited to have a family dog, whenever that may happen...
After having Andy Vetor's delicious homemade pancakes, we hit the road and headed toward good old Btown- the place that indirectly brought us together. All the kids stayed back with babysitters except Grace. Michael and I just felt like we have and will be away from Grace a lot with me traveling to Vegas the weekend before, our girls trip to Sullivan for Libbie's bridal shower and then Michael going to Florida for Vinny's bachelor party. We had lunch at Scotty's and then headed to the track to watch the Little 500. Our group only lasted at the race for the first 60 laps or so before deciding to go back to Scotty's. Call us old folks, but it was much more enjoyable to watch the race inside a warm building drinking beers and eating apps. The end of the race was very entertaining so it was nice to have a close shot of the last two teams. Really...the Cutters have now won 5 years in a row????

Michael and I were picturing getting to the race early, parking in the church parking lot and sitting at the top row beneath the press box (preferable with a cool breeze and the sun shinning. So many factors were against us- we arrived late after it was crowded, Fiji didn't have a good pit location, the weather was unfortunate, and of course the fact that it's a huge drunk party event for college students. What were we thinking???

Every parent has moments where they regret their parenting decision. One of ours = taking our infant to the Little 500. Take our advice, just don't do it! We definitely were up there for winning the worst parent of the moment award Saturday afternoon. In all honestly though, it was fine and we weren't going to let anything happen to Grace. She literally slept the entire time we were there in her pram. Between her pram (stroller) and her body guards (Amanda and Andrew Wilson, Anna and Brett Spitzer, Amanda and Andy Vetor, Libbie and Matt Weinheimer, and of course Michael and me) we knew she was going to be fine. Reflecting back, we still feel like we only had one option: go to the Little 500 with Grace, or not go all for the weekend. In hindsight, our entire group wishes we would have stayed at Scotty's to watch the entire race due to the weather. It kept getting more and more miserable as the race went on.Good thing there's no chance of Grace remembering her first "college" experience.

On our way home, we stopped at both Grandparents' houses. We had a great homemade lunch/dinner with the Thompsons and then spent some quality time with Uncle Matt. Grace and Uncle Matt were so cute together. Matt was so proud to count out all of his day's tips from his hard work at Stracks. We've decided to give Uncle Matt the responsibility of teaching Grace how to count. Look at how closely she was paying attention...
Gumball update- he has now been eating his daily amount of food for an entire week!
Grace update- she has been waking up in the middle of the night for a feeding the past 3 nights.
