Windsor

I'm a little behind on the posts, but will try to catch up the rest of this week. We went to Windsor a week and a half ago. It was an adorable town with a really cool castle and an awesome pub. Which meant, a perfect Sunday afternoon for the Nierengartens.
Windsor Castle, which is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. It is one of Queen Elizabeth II's official residences. A worker told us she frequently stays at the castle on the weekends during the summer months. When the Queen is in residence, her flag is flown from the Round Tower instead of the British flag.
St. George's Cathedral is located inside Windsor Castle grounds where many royal family members are buried, including King Henry VIII and the current Queen's parents.
Photos aren't allowed to be taken, so Michael shot these blindly while walking around.
King Henry VIII's and King Charles' tombs
Her Majesty's state rooms in Windsor Castle. Another set of pictures that weren't allowed to be taken, but this time I was the sneaky one.
Changing of the guards at Windsor Castle
If you zoom in, you will see the guard is looking directly at the camera...creepy!
After touring the beautiful castle, we stopped for a light dinner on this cute street.
The Blossoms and a worker at the castle told us to go around to the side of the castle where we would find the long street that leads to the Queen's entrance, a different view of the castle, but most importantly a proper British pub...Two Brothers
Random cute house between the Queen's entrance and the pub.

One pint turned into sharing 3 with a new friend we made from Russia. He must have enjoyed our company because he walked around Windsor with us for a bit before we all got back on the train to go home. I didn't want a 3rd beer, which was his turn to buy so he handed me a bag of peanuts and said, "You're American. You like peanuts with your beer."
I'm going to end this post with a quote which was written on a wall inside the pub-
"Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the Bible says: 'Love Your Enemy'" -Frank Sinatra
