Dear Grace,
One of Daddy's best friends from college came to visit us with his wife. You had such a good time with Mr. and Mrs. Vetor. You even learned how to roll over (back to tummy) while they were here. Daddy and Andy were determined to teach you. Daddy was able to take one day off work so we decided to check out the royal wedding dress at Buckingham Palace. The state rooms at the palace are only open 8 weeks out of the year, while the Queen visits Scotland. After a 25 minute phone call, I was able to get tickets for our group. The state rooms were beautiful. Every detail from floor to ceiling. Prams and push carts weren't allowed so you were contently hanging out in your carrier. You were looking up at the breathtaking ceilings most of the time. *Surprise! Surprise! Enjoy!
Love, Mummy
We weren't allowed to sneak any pictures inside. Cameras had to be put away. There were people in every room attentively watching so I uploaded a few pictures from the internet.
The grand staircase leading up to the state rooms.
The Throne Room. You may have remembered this room from some of the royal wedding pictures.
Viewing the royal wedding dress with our British friends, the Queen and Duchess of Cambridge. :)
Rear view of the palace from the royal gardens. We were able to take pictures at this point.
Do I look as cool as Andy when I wear his sunglasses?
Leaving the palace we stumbled into a relaxing and extremely spacious restaurant to enjoy pizza and beer. You spent the rest of the evening with your babysitter, Nelly, while we went to dinner at one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Notting Hill. Originally, we had planned to go to a Spanish Tapas restaurant with the Vetors. It is supposed to be the best Spanish restaurant outside of Spain. However, as we walked by they were carving the leg of some type of animal. Needless to say we lost our appetite and desire to dine with them. Salad anyone?
Grace is getting so big!! She is such a lucky girl to get to experience all of the sights of London... :) Hope you all are doing well, and having fun with B and G's godfather! :)
