Navy Pier

Dear Grace,
Being 2 weeks away from Connor's due date, we really wanted to do something fun together as a family of 3 this past weekend. Time got the best of us on Saturday as we continued to get as much done around the house as possible before your brother arrives. By the time we all got in the car and pulled out of the driveway, it was already 2:45! That's the point when Daddy and I thought it would be a good idea to see what time the zoo closes. We had our hearts set on going to Brookfield Zoo since it was a gorgeous day outside.  We came to find out everything closes by 5 PM on Saturdays- all the zoos, museums, etc. Oops! Already being on the express way, we decided to drive into the city. We figured we'd be able to come up with some other idea. We definitely did. Enjoy!
Love, Mommy

We ended up at Navy Pier for dinner and some great Chicago sightseeing.
It was your first trip to Navy Pier and I cannot remember the last time Daddy and I were there. We used to run the 3.5 mile loop from our condo down Grand and around Navy Pier.

You had a blast pointing out and saying boat.

Of course spontaneous touristy trips like these remind me of our day trips in London.
Can you believe a year ago an average day was spent relaxing in our favorite London gardens? I looked back to what I was blogging about a year ago and came across a typical day in London, after posting about our vacation to Spain and our day trip to Tangier, Morocco in Africa
