One of my favorite things to do during the day, other than aimlessly walk around, is to talk to anyone who is willing to listen to me. I always end up asking them what they recommend I do while being in London. Everyone says to frequent the Portobello Market in Notting Hill. This was also Maggie HUGHES's and Lauren GRANT's #1 suggestion as well.
Thanks to Aunt Susan our street credit with Disney movies definitely went up. Here's a little walk down memory lane with Bed knobs and broomsticks...
This area went from nothing, until we turned around a corner and saw this...
We took a deep breath, prayed that Grace would continue to nap, and took full advantage of having a pram lead the way.
You have a baby...in a BAR? Yes, we did! We just needed a break, but within 5 minutes it started to down pour. Our table next to the door along with the comfy couches quickly became popular.
And we are glad it did, because an incredibly nice couple joined us. I didn't think it would have been appropriate to get a group shot this early in the relationship, but all 4 of us left knowing we will meet again. After exchanging digits we were on our way...
The company was great in the pub, however, we will be eating at the actual market in the future. Vinny & Alana, the oversized paella reminded us of your wedding taste testing double date night.
Don't worry...there's always enough room left for Strawberry and Nutella crepes! Yummy!Toward the end of the market, there was a HUGE wall decorated like album covers on a shelf. Kind of random, but everyone was posing to take silly pictures in front of it. Maybe I would jump off a bridge if everyone was doing it???
I am obsessed with the color and character of these houses, but why would you want to live off of Portobello Market?
Michael loved the look of this Notting Hill boutique. Little did he know how big of a tourist he was being when taking this picture. It isn't an actual bookstore anymore, but it was the building for the bookstore in the Notting Hill movie with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts.
Of course I had to google imagine pictures from the movie to compare...
All of us were exhausted so it was finally time to start heading home. Back through Holland Park we went...
