11 months

Dear Grace,
Technically you turned 11 months before we went home for your Aunt Libbie's wedding, but due to the pre-wedding craziness, I didn't get the chance to take the pictures until after we made it back to London. Check out the 10 months post if you're interested in comparing. (ah-hem...grandparents?)
It literally seems like you turned from a baby into a little girl overnight. You have such a warm, welcoming, happy go lucky personality and it shows more and more every month. It's easy to make you laugh, even when you're crabby.
You are so close to walking. All you need to do is decide it's something you want to do. You continue to crawl faster and faster getting you from point A to B quicker than if you were trying to walk. When holding our hands, you walk fast, which amazes strangers who are watching such a little baby.
Traveling has become more interesting. We walked the plane numerous times when we flew back to Chicago alone for your Aunt Libbie's wedding. I do think you transitioned quicker than I did to the time change both to Chicago and London.

You're a great eater: breast milk, little bit of formula, organic foods and you're at least trying pretty much anything we eat. You still prefer to drink from an adult glass. You're starting to use plastic cups, but you still won't drink out of a sippy cup top. I still want to try a straw with you. You refuse to drink anything out of a cup other than H20.
One of my favorite Grace moments is when you snuggle up to me with your thumb in mouth and stay there for a few moments. This started when we were home and I don't know if it will ever get old.

As for your baby schedule. You were on a pretty set routine of sleeping just under 12 hours throughout the night and 2 two hour long naps, until we threw you off by going home. It was easier (and made more sense to us) to just watch how many hours you slept, and how much you ate in a 24 hour period of time. Travel days were a little off, but other than that you slept and ate as much as you 'were supposed to.' We gradually pushed back or bumped up your bedtime and naps until we were back to a more typical schedule. Once we were back in London, I thought you were dropping your second nap until yesterday. I don't think we're quite ready for that yet.

As for continuing to grace people with your presence- your Uncle Matthew gave you the most adorable reindeer hat and people LOVE it! You have been receiving so much attention and comments from people everywhere. "Look Rudolph just arrived!" "Awww...how cute is that baby's hat?" When you wear it people do refer to you as a boy more than a girl, but you don't seem to mind.
I love you so much and I cannot believe you are a little girl already!

Love, Mummy
